AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is an attacking player. She is also captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division for women's professional soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she co-captained the US women's national soccer team together with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time, was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. She was able to finish 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same calendar year . she became the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
